I chose some written resources to accompany the CCC exhibit and to provide additional information about the 1920s and 1930s—HARD TIMES for the American People!
There are two books about Texas’ CCC Camps. Texas State Parks and the CCC provides background and information about the camps in Texas. This book is for sale in the museum’s bookstore for $24.95. The second book, The Civilian Conservation Corps in Texas State Parks presents information about each of the parks. There is also a map from this book that locates the camps.
I think the exhibit provides interesting information that is rarely seen in Texas.
Several books were borrowed from the Nellie Pederson Civic Library.
